NO Customer Service, Late Delivery, POORLY packed box

I was initially excited to try Hungryroot as my bf just started eating vegan. 1st red flag: you can't select what you want until AFTER you sign up and give payment info.
I went through the process and really disliked their website. It took several tries to get the order placed.
I was offered a delivery for Sunday and to get ready for dinner. NO WHERE was I advised delivery windows are until 9pm! I unfortunately got that news at 6:30pm via text on Sunday awaiting the box so I could make dinner. 2nd red flag: You cannot reach anyone live. You have to go through a text ordeal, which initially said expect a response in 48 hours. A complete joke.
I sent a barrage of "cancel" texts until someone answered. Not only did I not have dinner at 6pm on a Sunday, but we didn't have groceries for the week ahead. We had to spend extra money going out to eat and then spend our Sunday evening grocery shopping instead. All because we had the great error in judgement of planning a Hungryroot box.
They stole time, effort and my Sunday evening from me, then 3rd red flag: they *refused* to refund. 16 emails later I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge. Monday at 2pm I finally received a Hungryroot email saying they apologized for disappointing me and were going to refund the charges, since the box had still not been delivered. I attempted contact multiple times (including through Hungryroot's website messaging, texts, Facebook and Instagram) to get information about my order. Hungryroot refused all requests for a refund until the next day and AFTER I disputed their charge, each time saying the items are perishable and not refundable. Think about that. 4th red flag: You get your box whenever you get your box, and they expect you to *eat* those items - but they won't allow a refund when the box is late using the same "perishable" logic!
Arriving home from work at 5pm Monday, I found a Hungryroot box delivered. Who knows how long it sat there in the blazing FL sun. Automated tracking info told me it was placed on a LaserShip truck at 4am Sunday. 5th red flag: One whole side of the box was soaked in a vinegar smelling oily liquid. This turned out to be pkg of cucumber bean salad smashed open and all box contents covered in it. A package of burger buns was placed at the *bottom* of the box, completely squashed flat. Nothing was even close to being usable. All items were warm, covered in goo (one of the gel packs had also burst) or otherwise dented/broken open/broken.
This experience is a clear indication to me that Hungryroot does not value subscribers and doesn't care to implement a support structure. In the *strongest possible terms* I urge avoiding this meal kit plan.

This is the worse food service I have…

This is the worse food service I have ever tried. The BOX showed up with ice and was a day late and every thing was thawed. I live in South Carolina and the Sun was shinning down on that box all day. So I canceled. This company had the audacity to continue charging me for a shipment that is arriving today, THAT I CANCELED!!!

Absolutely AWFUL DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!

Extremely disappointed 7 items for 90 dollars... delayed delivery... entire box covered in shrimp juice because items are not properly packaged. Three weeks in and I canceled. Don’t bother emailing them any negative feed back because you’ll never hear back. Recommend hello fresh or something else over hungry root. Absolutely awful. You get the same variety of food every couple weeks. Not much to chose from. Just don’t do it

You better like hot spices, beans, rice and corn.

I ordered 4 lunches and 4 dinners and 4 breakfast and snacks. What was sent was 4 dinners with the leftovers for lunch, 3 containers of oatmeal and a box of fig bars.This plan should be labeled not for single people. Lots of pepper and hot spice on everything. Maybe a hot pepper loving vegan would enjoy Hungryroot’s food.

I ordered my first box from Hungryroot…

I ordered my first box from Hungryroot totalling $180. My box did not show on Monday and my tracking info showed that the box had not even been picked up.
It’s now Friday 04/23/21 and I still don’t have the box. I have tried to reach Hungryroot for the last 3 days on the text number and email but have received no reply. I don’t understand how a business can operate without a customer service line. I have since filed a official complaint to retrieve a refund.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HUNGRYROOT.

This food delivery service is a joke! Only one box arrived on time. I had boxed arriving 3 days late with spoiled food. They don't respond to any inquiries and good luck getting your refund! You'll have to hunt them down and even then, they'll ignore you!

Needs more transparency

All in all, I'm not unhappy about customer service. And my food has--for the most part--arrived on time. The meals are good. Family likes them.
But the site navigation is terrible. Trying to track your spending is a headache. Twice now, I've changed my meals because my husband doesn't like tofu. I've been sent meals with tofu in them and meal I attempted to replace it the tofu meals with.
In one box, part of the ingredients needed for their recipes weren't there, but other ingredients that I didn't order were.

Worse customer experience ever

Worse customer experience ever! I requested a cancellation and they continued to charge me. Then claimed I had Not cancel, went thru this for two weeks and refuse to refund after I had messages to prove my request. Stay away!

Didn’t like the service so I cancelled

Didn’t like the service so I cancelled. They reactivated my subscription without my permission and took $250 from me without my permission when I didn't have the money. Tried to reach out for help and they didn't even care. Horrible company

I have been trying to contact via email…

I have been trying to contact via email for 5 days regarding an issue with my delivery that say on a Fed Ex (the worst carrier ever) truck for 4 days. I gave the FedEx case # and asked for a refund and they will not respond.

My delivery never came because my order…

My delivery never came because my order was accidentally sent to Virgina when I live in Massachusetts. I can't get in touch with anyone to just cancel my order completely because I don't want food thats been sitting in an unrefrigerated truck. Then to my horror, I WAS CHARGED $25 TO REROUTE MY BOX, when they couldn't read my address!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Crappy site navigation and customer service

My computer logged out and I didn’t like what they chose for me. I’m unable to find a my order place to click. Also, there is no way to talk to a human being.
